
Transmission Gear Shaft
Gear and shaft design are generally connected in the following ways:
1. Gear shaft. Gear and shaft are integrated.
2. Spline connection. Spline connection is composed of internal spline and external spline. The internal and external splines are multi tooth parts, the splines on the inner cylindrical surface are internal splines, and the splines on the outer cylindrical surface are external splines.
3. General key connection. Generally, the key connection is to realize the circumferential fixation between the shaft and the gear through the key to transmit motion and torque.
4. There is also a mechanism, such as ratchet mechanism, which can realize one-way rotation and disengage in the reverse direction.
Gear and shaft design:
1. The gear shaft is usually a pinion (a gear with a small number of teeth).
2. The gear shaft is generally at the high speed stage (i.e. low torque stage).
3. The gear shaft is rarely used as a sliding gear for speed change. It is generally a fixed running gear. First, because it is at a high speed, it is not suitable for sliding speed change.
4. The gear shaft is a combination of shaft and gear. However, the length of shaft should be shortened as much as possible during design. Too long shaft is not conducive to upper gear hobbing, and too long shaft support causes the shaft to be thickened and mechanical strength (such as rigidity, deflection, bending resistance, etc.)

Generally, it can be divided into drive shaft, rotating shaft and spindle. Different styles of shafts have different uses and characteristics.
Generally speaking,the gear and shaft design is to use small gears. The main feature of the gear is that the number of teeth on the gear is relatively small. In the design process, designers usually need to shorten the length of the shaft as much as possible, because if the shaft is too long, the difficulty of data analysis and processing on the hobbing machine will also increase. Moreover, it will be adversely affected due to its too long length.
