M3 Gear Rack

Rack installation and connection instructions:

In order to install and splice the M3 gear rack more smoothly, the end faces of both ends of the standard rack will be processed into half teeth and the end faces of the bottom teeth will be negative tolerance, so as to facilitate the connection with the end face of the next rack and the half teeth to form a full tooth. The rack can be used indefinitely through splicing.

When installing the M3 gear rack, pre-drill the installation hole on the tooth profile angle. During assembly, drill the hole. The hole can also be added. The installation screw needs to be locked by the torque wrench and the table. Fix the hexagon socket screw with 12.9 torque. For 0.5M long rack, locating pin must be used. It is recommended to check the connection reaction under load when using the paired rack with high load.

Quick installation method of M3 gear rack

1. Pre-tighten and fix the rack position with screws.

2. Use the reverse tooth gauge to assist in the installation of the connecting rack. The connecting rack moves forward and backward to make the tooth gauge and the rack fully contact, and ensure the standard of splicing tooth pitch.

3. After adjustment, check the parallelism of the rack and the parallelism between the racks, and check the straightness of the rack.

4. After inspection, firm the rack according to the preload, tighten the screws with 12.9 torque, and then install the locating pin.

Installation method of rack meter

1. Pre-tighten and fix the rack position with screws.

2. Put the round bar into any tooth of the rack, and measure the distance from the bottom of the rack to the highest point of the round bar with an arc-shaped micrometer as the installation reference value.

3. Put the round bar into the connecting teeth of the rack and the connecting rack, measure the distance from the bottom of the rack to the highest point of the round bar with the reference value as the benchmark, and reach the reference value we set by adjusting back and forth.

4. After adjustment, check the parallelism of the rack and the parallelism between the racks, and also check the straightness of the rack.

5. After inspection, firm the rack according to the preload, tighten the screws with 12.9 torque, and then install the locating pin.
