Steel gear rack:

Thesteel gearrack is a strip part that matches the gear.

It is equal to a section of the circumference of a gear with infinite diameter.

Many teeth are evenly distributed on one side and mesh with the gear to change the rotation into movement, or change the movement into rotation.

The rack is a long strip with teeth on one side. It can be considered as a section on a gear with infinite diameter.

The rack has standard models such as 1m 1.5m 2m 2,5m 3M 4m 5m 6m, and the length is 1m 1.5m 2m 3M. It can be processed and customized according to the drawing.

Steel can be C45, 40CR, A3, brass.

Steel gear rack choose material:

1. for the gear teeth that are easy to break under impact load, materials with good toughness shall be selected, and low carbon steel carburizing and quenching can be selected.

2. for high-speed closed transmission, the tooth surface is prone to pitting corrosion. Materials with good tooth surface hardness shall be selected, and medium carbon steel surface quenching can be selected.

3. for low-speed and medium load, when gear tooth fracture, pitting corrosion and wear can occur, comprehensive factors such as mechanical strength and tooth surface hardness shall be selected.

For materials with good mechanical properties, carbon steel can be selected for quenching, tempering and fine cutting.

4. try to reduce the variety of materials, facilitate management, and consider resources and supply.

5. when the structure size is required to be compact and the wear resistance is high, alloy steel shall be used.

6. equipment and technology of the manufacturer.

 

Steel Gear Racks consist of spur or helical gear teeth cut on linear rectangular or circular bars. Both circular and linear racks can be described as sector gears with an infinite radius of curvature. Rack gears have advantages over ball screws because they have considerable load carrying capacity and a simple design that allows multiple racks to be connected to meet your required length.

 

Steel Gear Racks have hard, strong, and wear-resistant teeth, although they can rust when exposed to moisture and corrosive chemicals. They are best suited for high-torque machines (such as lifting equipment) and heavy-duty applications (such as rock crushing). Some carbon steel gears have hardened teeth for better wear resistance. Gears with unhardened teeth can be hardened to suit your application.
