How does the 5V V belt work
Unlike flat belts that rely only on friction and can track and slide pulleys, the side walls of V-belts can be installed into the corresponding pulley grooves, providing greater surface area and higher stability. When the belt is running, the belt tension will exert a wedge force perpendicular to its top, pushing its side wall to the side of the pulley groove, so as to multiply the friction, so that the driver can transmit higher load. (Figure 2) when operating under tension, how the V-belt is installed in the groove of the pulley will affect its performance.
Narrow V-belts (3V, 5V, 8V) have more inclined sidewalls than classic V-belts (Fig. 4), thus providing higher wedging effect and higher load capacity (up to 3 times of similar V-belts.
The new narrow profile grooved 5V V belt made of ethylene elastomer and aramid fiber stretch rope replaces the old classic V-belt driver, which can produce up to 3 times the load capacity, and reduce the weight and size of the wire. Drive to reduce stress on shafts, bearings and other components.
When 5V V belt drives with multiple grooved pulleys are involved, if the pulleys are not worn, fewer high-performance belts can be used (retaining the grooves), or high-performance belts can be filled in all grooves to increase the driving load capacity and extend the belt life. If the pulley is worn and needs to be replaced, you can upgrade to a more compact (but equally powerful) drive to reduce weight and space, or increase drive capacity while maintaining the same drive configuration.
5V V-Belts are mounted to pulleys to transmit power between rotating shafts. They are named for their V-shaped profile, which fits securely into the grooves of the pulleys. The cross-sectional size and length of the V-Belt are key to determining the correct fit and tension of the belt in the drive system. Standard and Toothed V-Belts are single belts or belted belts, which are two or more belts fused together with a reinforced backing. Toothed V-Belts operate cooler than standard V-Belts. Linked V-Belts can be sized to any length without disassembling the drive system. The dimensions of Metric V-Belts are based on European standards DIN 7753 and ISO 4184. Micro Poly-V-Belts are thin, flexible, and have raised ribs along the length of the belt for small, high-speed applications. Variable speed belts work as the drive system speed and pulley width change.
