Common heat treatment methods of chain: annealing, normalizing, quenching, tempering, carburizing, nitriding, carbonitriding, boriding. Aging treatment includes artificial aging treatment and natural aging treatment.

Annealing, heating the workpiece to 30&mdash above AC3; 50 degrees. After holding for a certain period of time, slowly cool down with the furnace to below 500 degrees and cool in the space.

Normalizing is an operation of heating the steel parts to above AC3 or ACM, taking them out of the furnace after heat preservation and cooling them in the air.

Quenching, heating the steel parts to above AC3 or AC1, and cooling rapidly in water or oil and other coolant after heat preservation, unstable structure has been obtained.

Tempering is a heat treatment process in which the quenched steel is reheated to a temperature below AC1 and cooled to room temperature after heat preservation.

Natural aging treatment is the aging phenomenon that occurs when the workpiece is stored at room temperature or under natural conditions for a long time, which is called natural aging treatment.

Artificial aging treatment adopts the aging treatment process of heating the workpiece to a higher temperature and aging treatment in a shorter time, which is called artificial aging treatment.
