When the chain wheel chain is driven, the roller part of the chain meshes with the tooth part of the chain wheel to transmit power as a mechanical transmission mode of tension. The main purposes are divided into two categories. One is to connect the motor for power transmission, and the other is to transfer the workpiece directly or indirectly by using the attachments on the chain. Chain wheel and chain are special parts, and only the matching chain and chain wheel can be combined for transmission.

Sprockets are mechanical parts that mesh with chains and transmit power. They are usually processed by keyways+threaded holes. The tooth surfaces need to be heat treated. Common materials include Q235, Q275, 45, gray cast iron, etc.

The chain is a mechanical component connected with the sprocket and transmitting power. The length of the chain is expressed by the number of chain links. The number of chain links should be even, so that when the chain is connected into a ring, the outer chain plate is just connected with the inner chain plate, and the joint can be locked with a spring clip or a cotter pin. The commonly used chains are roller chain and tooth chain. Tooth chain is usually used in high speed or high precision situations, but its cost is high and its structure is complex.
