1. The tool reciprocates, and the processing efficiency is not high. The accuracy of reciprocating machine tools is also difficult to improve.

2. Because the tool is reciprocating, it is difficult to achieve tooth modification, and its motion performance is worse than other tooth systems.

3. The cost has no advantage over other machining gear systems.

Machining straight bevel gears are now basically replaced by zero degree spiral bevel gears.

This kind of gear can be machined by Gleason arc tooth machining method. It has the same advantages as Gleason arc tooth.

Machining Gleason spiral bevel gears is very common

1. The forming principle determines that high-precision machine tools can be made. The teeth can be ground.

2. The shaping principle determines that the approximate modified tooth surface is made. Good sports performance can be obtained.

Disadvantages:

The efficiency is average, because every time a tooth is processed, it needs to be divided again.

It is difficult to design the parameters. It is necessary to ensure that the tooth surface is close to the conjugate surface, and to make the modification effect near the big and small ends.
