Timing Chain Replacement

There are generally many problems with timing chain replacement, such as the following problems.

The synchronous belt interface is broken. If this happens to the timing belt that has just been replaced, generally speaking, the timing belt that has just been glued has not been completely fixed, and the drum will be tightened. Treatment method: bonding from the beginning.

The appearance of the timing belt is excessively worn. Treatment: make the timing chain replacement. Before replacement, the main tensioner should loosen the drum first, and then remove the synchronous belt. Do not force the synchronous belt to be tilted off, so as to reduce the probability of machine damage.

The timing belt replacement slips. Treatment: this situation may be that the drum is too old. You can replace the drum or wrap the drum with glue, and fix the timing belt to the surface of the drum. This will not only add friction coefficient, but also extend the service life of the drum and the conveyor belt, and improve production efficiency at the same time.

When replacing the pulley and these products, turn off the power supply in advance, remove the protective cover and loosen the assembly bolts of the motor. Move the motor to make the timing belt loose enough to remove the drive belt without prying it off. Never pry the belt off. Remove the old drive belt and check for abnormal wear. Excessive wear can mean problems in the design or maintenance of the transmission. 

It is needless to say to select a suitable timing chain replacement. To clean the drive belt and drive pulley, wipe the rag with a little nonvolatile liquid. It is not advisable to soak it in detergent or use cleaning brush to clean the belt. In order to remove oil and dirt, it is obviously not advisable to wipe it with sandpaper or scrape it with sharp objects. The belt must be kept dry before installation and use. 

The next step is inspection: check whether the synchronous belt pulley has cracks or wear. It is best to use professional measuring tools. If the wear is excessive, the pulley must be replaced. Check whether the drive pulley is straight and symmetrical. Check other transmission components, such as symmetry, durability and lubrication of bearings and shaft sleeves. For multiple belt drives, all belts must be replaced. If only one old belt is replaced on multiple belt drives, the tension of the new belt may be appropriate, but the tension of all old belts will be insufficient. The drive may be loaded only by the new belt, resulting in premature damage of the new belt.
