Correct installation steps for pulley and cone sleeve

1. Remove residual oil, paint, and pollutants from the shaft, cone sleeve inner hole, cone sleeve outer surface, and pulley cone hole surface, and remove surface burrs. Attention: The use of lubricants can cause the pulley to break. Do not use any lubricants during installation.

 

2. Place the cone sleeve into the pulley cone hole and align each hole (each complete hole only has half the thread).

 

3. Add a little oil to the thread of the installation screw, and then screw it into the half threaded hole of the pulley. Attention: Do not lubricate the cone surface of the cone sleeve, the cone surface of the wheel hub, the inner hole of the cone sleeve, and the shaft. Using lubricant can cause the pulley to break.

 

4. Install a key in the keyway of the shaft, assemble the pulley cone sleeve on the shaft and position it, allowing the pulley to produce a small amount of axial movement during locking. Attention: When installing the pulley on the vertical axis, take precautions to prevent the pulley or cone sleeve from falling during the installation process.

 

5. Alternately tighten the installation screws until the pulley and the cone surface of the cone sleeve fully fit. Attention: Do not use a worn hexagonal wrench as it may cause loose installation or damage to the mounting screws.

 

6. Check alignment and pulley runout (oscillation), and correct if necessary.

 

7. Continue to alternately tighten the installation screws to the recommended installation screw locking torque value as shown in Table 1. Do not apply any more force after reaching the recommended installation screw locking torque value.

 

8. To increase the gripping force of the cone sleeve, use a hammer to moderately strike the end face of the cone sleeve through a pad iron or sleeve. Attention: Do not directly strike the cone sleeve with a hammer.

 

9. After tapping, tighten the installation screws of the cone sleeve again.

 

10. After the first trial run, recheck the torque and regularly check it in the future. If it is loose, repeat steps 5-9.
