Correct installation of synchronous belt drive

(1) Turn off the power, remove the protective cover and loosen the mounting bolts of the motor. Move the motor to make the belt loose enough to remove the belt without prying it off. Never pry the belt off.




(2) Remove the old belt and check for abnormal wear. Excessive wear can mean problems in the design or maintenance of the transmission.




(3) Select the appropriate belt replacement.




(4) When cleaning the belt and pulley, wipe the rag with a little nonvolatile liquid. Soaking in detergent or brushing the belt with detergent is not advisable. In order to remove oil and dirt, it is obviously not advisable to wipe with sandpaper or scrape with a sharp object. The belt must be kept dry before installation and use.




(5) Check the pulley for abnormal wear or cracks. If the wear is excessive, the pulley must be replaced.




(6) Check whether the pulley is straight and symmetrical. The pulley is straight and symmetrical to the drive belt, especially the operation of synchronous belt drive is very important.




(7) Check the other transmission components, such as the symmetry, durability and lubrication of bearings and shaft sleeves.




(8) Never pry or use excessive force to install a new belt on the pulley.




(9) Tighten the center distance of the driving device until the belt tension measured by the tension meter is appropriate. Turn the coil driving wheel by hand and re measure the tension.




(10) Tighten the unit bolts of the motor and correct the torque. Since any change in the center distance of the transmission during operation will lead to poor belt performance, it is necessary to ensure that all transmission components are tightened.




(11) Start the device and observe the performance of the belt, check whether there is abnormal vibration, listen carefully for abnormal noise, turn off the machine and check the condition of the bearing and motor; If it feels too hot, it may be that the belt is too tight, or the bearing is asymmetric, or the lubrication is incorrect.
