Timing Belt For FORD

How to install timing belt for FORD.

Turn off the engine and let it cool down. Open the engine hood and find the generator belt in front of the engine. Press the belt between pulleys to check its tension. If it is pressed more than 1/2 inch, the belt will be loose. Loose belt will affect the performance of the generator and even damage the belt. Check the oil or grease contamination of the generator belt, turn the belt over and check whether there are cracks, missing rubber blocks and slipping in the inner layer.

Loosen the adjusting bolt of the generator and adjust the pivot bolt. Move the generator inward to release the belt. Peel off the generator belt from the pulley, and then remove the generator belt.

Compare the removed old belt with the new  timing belt for FORD, and install the new belt after confirmation. Pull the generator outward until the belt is tight, and ensure that the generator belt is installed in a proper position.

Adjust the pivot bolts in strict accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Start the engine to verify the repair results, and recheck the belt tightness after shutting down the engine.

In modern engines, timing belts are often used to drive other components, such as water pumps or oil pumps. When replacing the  timing belt for FORD, it is recommended to check whether it is worn.
