There are several types of threads for hydraulic hose fitting, such as metric thread, British thread, American thread, etc... Metric thread is a kind of thread standard, the biggest difference from British thread is that the pitch is measured in millimeters. The tooth type code of ordinary thread is M, which is divided into coarse thread and fine thread. The pitch of coarse thread can be omitted; when the code of the tolerance zone of pitch diameter and top diameter is the same, it is only marked once; right-hand thread can be omitted. The direction code, the left-hand thread direction code is LH; when the length of the thread is medium (N), it is not noted, the long type is represented by L, and the short type is represented by S.

American thread is also called Uniform Thread. In 1864, American Willian Sellers formulated American National Thread (N) with reference to the British Wyeth thread standard system. The two threads are very similar in diameter and pitch series and tolerances.

The first digit 3/8 represents the outer diameter of the thread, in inches. To convert to the metric unit mm, multiply by 25.4, that is, 3/8×25.4=9.525mm; the second and third digits 16, 24, 32, and 20 are The number of teeth per inch (the number of teeth on the length of 25.4mm); the text code UNC, UNF, UNEF, UN after the third digit is the serial code, and the last two digits 2A are the accuracy grade.
