how to choose the appropriate hydraulic fitting size and pipeline size

According to the flow and pressure of a given hydraulic systemhow to choose the appropriate hydraulic fitting size and pipeline size  is one of the keys to ensure the working efficiency and reliability of the hydraulic system. The proper selection of hydraulic adapter fitting specifications and pipe sizes in different parts of the hydraulic system determines whether the system has the best combination of cost and efficiency.

If hydraulic fittings and line flow diameters are too small, which can result in high flow rates, and can cause many damaging effects on the system. In pressure lines, it causes high friction losses and turbulence leading to large pressure drops and heat generation. High heat will accelerate the wear of interlocking components and accelerate the aging of seals and hoses, which ultimately reflects a reduction in the operating life of system components. High heat also results in energy loss, which reduces system efficiency. Excessive diameter of hydraulic fittings and piping increases system cost. Therefore, the ideal selection of hydraulic fitting size and line size is critical.

In the piping design of the hydraulic system, the following flow rates are generally recommended:

Working pipeline: <8m/s

Oil return pipeline: <4m/s

Oil suction line: <1.2m/s
